Marching for jobs against government policies

WAC-MAAN—A trade union for you!

1 May 2009

Join us! Only organized labor can stand up to oligarchy!

Enough predatory capitalism! Enough exploitation!

On Friday, May 1, 2009, we shall march for jobs. We shall march against government policies that suck up to big money, policies that offer no solution to the unemployment brought on by the global crisis.

We shall march, Jews and Arabs together, workers in construction, agriculture, and restaurants, teachers, quarriers, the diggers at the archaeological sites-we all demand jobs under fair conditions.

Together we'll bring dignity back to labor. Together we'll resurrect the First of May, after the Histadrut and the bosses joined forces in erasing it.

Meeting time and place:

Friday, 13:30, in Tel Aviv, corner of Rothschild and Mazeh. We shall march to Gan Meir on King George.

At Gan Meir we shall hold a rally with the participation of Assaf Adiv (WAC National Coordinator), Asma Agbarieh-Zahalka, representatives of social organizations, Dr. Yitzhak Saporta, singer Amir Lev, poets Roni Somek and Yudit Shachar, and the rock group, Lo'i.

The demonstration will include a memorial ceremony for workers who were killed this year in job accidents. Their families will take part.
